Douglas E Powell and the Rising Spirit

Douglas E Powell and the Rising Spirit’s music has been described as; simultaneously wistful, melancholy and fragile. Layering poetic intelligent lyrics over classic English folk blended with alt-country, giving the listener hints from influences that range from John Martyn, Bill Fay and Pink Floyd to Wilco, Ryan Adams and Gram Parsons.

Scott Xander Linn and the Broken Bottles

Lead singer and acoustic troubadour Scott Xander Linn fronts his new band The Broken Bottles gleaning influences from folk, country and punk into a unique sound topped off with a husky vocal. They deliver songs themed around small town life, pretty girls & hitting the bottle. In a very short time they have left their distinctive mark on the South West live music scene with favourable comments from admirers such as - gritty folk-noir, love songs for the hometown you hate and lyrically colourful and musically warm.

Mike Stocks

A regular on the Southwest’s live music scene for the past 15 years, Mike ‘Mr Pickle’ Stocks manages to balance his life between art and music. As an artist he creates wonderful tattoo work and as a musician he crafts equally wonderful songs, capturing the zeitgeist with punchy playful melodies and lyrics laid over catchy tunes and riffs; imagine if Billy Bragg was the lead singer of The Smiths.
