Neil Halstead

Neil Halstead has so far released three solo albums. 2002's 'Sleeping on Roads' on 4AD records and the more whimsical 'Oh Mighty Engine" released 2008 on Jack Johnson’s Brushfire label, with whom he has toured extensively.

Neil's latest amazing solo album "Palindrome Hunches" was released on Sonic Cathedral in 2012.

In October 2013, Black Hearted Brother, Halstead's collaboration with Mark Van Hoen, released their debut album "Stars Are Our Home".

Neil's albums expand and draw influence from British and American folk music, new and old ; from Nick Drake , Bert Jaunch and Townes Van Zant to latter day songwriters like sufjan stevens, Will Oldham , Iron and Wine and Jeff tweedy.

In the early ‘90s at the tender age of seventeen Neil fronted cult shoegaze band Slowdive before moving onto the psych-country folk of Mojave 3 on 4AD records; a band who have released five albums to date with a few more to come, we hope.
Hard to find two bands with more critical accolades, and at the core of thease bands was Halstead and his songwriting.

"Neil Halstead’s ‘Oh Mighty Engine’ is an understated gem of eccentric englishnesss: like Syd Barrett if he'd ever set foot on a surf board - The man is a Legend" - NME

Douglas E Powell and the Rising Spirit

Douglas E Powell and the Rising Spirit’s music has been described as; simultaneously wistful, melancholy and fragile. Layering poetic intelligent lyrics over classic English folk blended with alt-country, giving the listener hints from influences that range from John Martyn, Bill Fay and Pink Floyd to Wilco, Ryan Adams and Gram Parsons.
